Tips for Finding Local Homeschool Adventures
TEN WAYS TO FIND YOUR NEXT HOMESCHOOL ADVENTURE! 🚙🤯👏🏻
Great learning adventures are happening near you all the time. Here are some of the ways I keep from finding out too late and can even invite friends along!
👉Save Ideas on the TripAdvisor App and Website
Make folders in your TripAdvisor account for areas or states you know you will be visiting. When you hear a place recommendation or see an IG post (like @reclaimingwonders 😉), hop over to TripAdvisor to search for the location, and add it to your list for that region.
When you’re headed to that area in a future trip, simply open the map in the app, and see which places are near your end destination. The searches in @TripAdvisor will provide the associated website, hours and days of operation, pricing, and reviews. All the info you need to plan your trip in one place!
👉Check Out Local University Schedules and Exhibits
Our nearby colleges offer amazing educational concerts in which the performers showcase different cultures and answer questions from the students. These fill up with traditional school kids, so I have to act quickly.
Colleges often have associated museums for their students to do their studies or to showcase their work. Look for a garden, history museum, art gallery, theater performances, or even senior music recitals.
Not only are college programs a great way to expose your students to college campuses, their programs are often free or very inexpensive. The kids get to see college kids in action and imagine what it would be like to school there.
Use these opportunities to discuss what they like about the college, what they might like to study there, what they don’t like, etc.
