Reclaiming Wonders
A peaceful and serene scene from a sandy beach surrounded by tall, lush trees. In the foreground, a young girl is lying on a colorful beach towel, engrossed in reading a book. She appears content and undisturbed, immersed in her own world of imagination and storytelling. A few camping chairs and a small tent suggest a family outing or a camping trip. The verdant trees tower above, providing shade and a natural canopy, while the blue sky peeks through the branches, adding to the tranquil atmosphere. This image captures the essence of a carefree childhood, where the simple pleasures of reading and being surrounded by nature offer a sense of wonder and contentment.

Embracing Individuality: A Mother's Journey

Asking for a friend... ;) Tell me how to raise my mini-me... . . How do you make the kid (who seems destined to be just like you) become different than you while showing her that her Mom loves the way she herself is... Because you want said child to love how she is as a kid naturally... While wanting you both to be different? In a good way. . . When the kid becomes a self-conscious 12 year old who wants to sit and read on the beach instead of play with the siblings. When she stays up late reading her book and wants a new one. When she is naturally a bit grumpy and reserved and is okay being alone. And doesnā€™t like to be told how or what to do while declaring herself stubborn. . . How to tell her not to be when her mother does the same? And I do seem to take after my own mother in many of those ways... All very content to be occupied with a pile of stuff to read or create requiring limited activity or exertion. For hours. We love you, Memma ;) . . These Georgia lake beaches sure look different than those Galveston ocean beaches. Just a bit.
