Reclaiming Wonders
A group of people, both adults and children, are gathered in an outdoor setting surrounded by lush greenery and a rolling hill in the background. They are all holding baskets or containers filled with freshly picked strawberries, indicating that they have been strawberry picking together. Several of the adults and children are wearing face masks, likely as a precautionary measure during the COVID-19 pandemic. The group appears to be a close-knit community or homeschooling group, with people of various ages and backgrounds coming together for a shared experience. The image radiates a sense of joy, community, and appreciation for simple pleasures like spending time outdoors and engaging in traditional activities like fruit picking.

Homeschooling Community Strawberry Picking

How to homeschool — together. Make that how to live - together. We all need our peeps. . . Honestly? It’s been a hard week for me as our homeschool group shifts and kids graduate from programs and things change but... It’s solidified for me how we will persevere and maintain people. People trump math any day. These are some of my favorite people. Strawberry picking totally counts! . . I’ve had friends do drop offs or replicate school at home by themselves... And they don’t do well. We all need people. No matter how introverted or different or stubbornly independent we are. Kids need people and grown ups need other grown ups. . . And my favorite part? The kids who now have more grown ups in their corner loving on them and supporting them and involved in their lives. Kids who sit and have conversations with grown ups and think nothing of it. . . Here’s to finding community. Making it a priority. No mom is an island. If you are, go find some people! 😘
