Two years ago, my oldest and I celebrated her 13th birthday with a road trip to Asheville, North Carolina and a full day exploring the Biltmore Mansion. Your East Coast road trip should definitely include the Biltmore. Don’t let the ticket price scare you off! It’s worth it. What can you do at the Biltmore Estate? 🔹Wander the expansive grounds and trails. (Prepare for lots of walking!) 🔹Enjoy the fountains and sculptures. 🔹Tour the 175,000 square foot mansion. 🔹Check online for info on the current exhibits. 🔹Explore Asheville’s walkable downtown full of fancy restaurants. Mom tip. This isn’t really a little kid place. Yes, they might admit it’s pretty, but I don’t think they’d get much out if it other than frustration. Leave the littles until they can enjoy it. This way you can enjoy it!😉 Because it was winter on our girls’ trip, most of the garden was bare. The indoor gardens, however, are fantastic.
