Reclaiming Wonders
The image depicts a small museum or exhibit space situated within what appears to be a hangar or airport building. The centerpiece of the display is a vintage yellow biplane aircraft, likely from the early 20th century. The plane is suspended in the air and positioned alongside several other aviation-related artifacts and displays. An American flag hangs prominently from the ceiling, adding a patriotic touch to the scene. The setting has an industrial feel, with exposed beams and high ceilings reminiscent of a hangar or aircraft maintenance facility. In the foreground, there is a seating area with chairs and a desk, suggesting a space for visitors to learn or perhaps engage in educational activities related to the exhibits.

Don't Miss the Local Museum

Don’t be a travel snob. 🫵 Don’t just walk past. Don’t assume it isn’t “worth it”. ✋And don’t pass your apathy to your kids! 😉 This little museum is in a corner of my hometown municipal airport. It isn’t fancy, but it’s there. The airplane display at Wichita Falls Regional Airport tells the history of Sheppard Airforce Base. It’s the only Euro-NATO joint jet pilot training program in the world, and the reason families form around the world are stationed in North Texas. That’s impressive to me! If you ever fly into Wichita Falls, make sure you check it out. Look for your own opportunities… 👀To spend five more minutes reading the historical plaque to your children. 👀To show your family that learning their local history is just as important. 👀To not just walk on by… 💡You never know when that little piece of the puzzle will click and spark an interest in their little minds.. And there are so many sparks on family trips together! 👉Share this in your stories so your friends won’t know you’re calling them out for an attitude change. 😜 📸Photo from Dec 2021 ——— 👋 Don’t forget to follow @reclaimingwonders for more real-life family travel. 🚙 ———
