Visiting the African Painted Dogs at the Zoo

Today I did something crazy. We drove across from the museum to hit the #houstonzoo because the sun came out... and because there wasn’t a reason not to! This boy hadn’t seen his #africanpainteddog in a couple of months and he does love them so. Crowds were minimal! Our big apes were missing due to the cold... but the bird house continues to become one of our favorites, the octopus was out swimming, we watched a guy clean the coral in the tank ;) , learned about sea turtle rescue, and soaked in some inside activities more than we usually do. The kid pace. If they want to watch a 15 minute video on ocean preservation... why not? Self guided interest at its best. Yea for warmer weather on its way!
