Zanzibar's Best Beaches: A Tropical Escape
If found, please return to the tropics š“š„²
.
Save this post because here are places you donāt want to miss in Zanzibarš
.
NORTH
Nungwi and Kendwa, although there are a lot of resorts up here which is not for everyone, I noticed the sand was some of the most powdery on all of the island! Sunset here is an absolute must, the sky was cotton candy š¬ (picture 2).
Places I recommend checking out are @zurizanzibar & @kendwarockszanzibar (which are very close to each other)!
.
EAST
Welcome to my favorite part of the island, in particular the Southeast - Paje & Jambiani.
Although Paje is more built up/ crowded, itās also where youāll find the best cafes to work from and itās a great hub for digital nomads. If you prefer a quieter / low key base, I would recommend Jambiani and you can rent a scooter to easily get to Paje whenever youād like!
In the Northeast youāll also find laidback vibes at Matemwe beach, which I definitely recommend! And you can take a daytrip to Mnemba Island from there, which although itās private and you technically canāt go on it, itās a lot to fun to swim / snorkel in the bluest water and if you plan carefully / find the right guide (I recommend @toujours_zanzibar & @abdillah.salim) you might even get to swim with dolphins š¬ (please if you visit Zanzibar do your research and donāt go out on the boats that chase the dolphins š©)
.
SOUTH
A place worth checking out is Mtende Beach (pictures 3 & 4). Be sure to check the tide beforehand because this beach is not accessible during high tide!
.
WEST
A trip to Zanzibar would be incomplete without a visit to Stone Town, Iāll share an entire post about that but for now here are a few of my favorite places there: Harbor Indian, Karafu coffee house & Secret Garden!
