Tips for Visiting Wadi Mujib Canyon in Jordan

5 tips for visiting Wadi Mujib 🌟 Did you know Wadi Mujib is nicknamed the Grand Canyon of Jordan? It is part of the Mujib Biosphere reserve, which is the lowest biosphere in the world! 😱 Here are 5 tips to make the most of your experience at Wadi Mujib, a MUST DO experience on your next trip to Jordan! 🇯🇴 👉 A trip to Wadi Mujib is a canyoning adventure and arguably one of the best ways to enjoy Jordan’s Dead Sea. To get there, drive to the Wadi Mujib Visitor Center which is located on the Jordan Valley Highway. It’s about halfway along the Dead Sea, so much further down from the popular Dead Sea Hotel area. 👉 The most popular hike is the Wadi Mujib Siq Trail. The Siq Trail takes you up a narrow canyon between sandstone cliffs. It’s a little over 1km long and ends at a waterfall. Note: This hike is seasonal and closed in the winter (usually April 1st to October 31st) so double check that it’s open especially if you plan to visit in April or October. 👉 The hike requires upper body strength at times since ropes and ladders are used to climb through the canyon. Be prepared! 👉 You will get wet 💦 Wear a bathing suite and light clothing & leave everything except your go pro or phone with a waterproof case, preferably one that you can wear around your neck!  👉 Bring water shoes if you have them and if not, you can buy them at the Wadi Mujib Visitor Center for 5 JOD (7 USD).
