Sunset Alignment over Haleakalā Volcano

Sunset from the top of 10,000 foot Haleakalā volcano. Most people and the tour buses left the minute the sun went down and missed it getting even better. . . Sunset. Waning tiny crescent moon. And Venus. All in alignment. . . We waited another hour or so and picnicked in the car... because it’s 30 degrees colder at the top and we were shivering. . . And then the stars. God makes some good stuff. . . No car sickness driving home in the dark. Just sleeping kids.
