Reclaiming Wonders
The image depicts a lively and engaging homeschooling scene in a cozy, lived-in room. At the center is a wooden dining table where two children, a girl with long blonde hair and a boy with short hair, are engaged in educational activities. The girl is seated at the table, writing or reading from a book, while the boy sits on the floor nearby, playing with Lego blocks. A third child, partially visible, appears to be sitting on the floor as well, absorbed in their own activity. Surrounding the table is an organized clutter that hints at the vibrant and multifaceted nature of their homeschooling experience. The walls are adorned with educational posters, including a large world map, art prints, and bookshelves filled with a diverse array of books. Outside the windows, bird feeders can be seen, suggesting a connection to nature and the outdoors. On the table, there are various materials such as binders, journals, and kinetic sand, indicating a hands-on, multisensory approach to learning. Despite the apparent chaos, the scene exudes a sense of warmth, creativity, and a love for knowledge.

Homeschool Morning: A Glimpse into Our Vibrant Learning Space

Day 3: Homeschool space for #backtohomeschoolchallenge2020 for @ourlittlesliceofheaven . . While we spread out all over our house for learning, this is as “school”y as we get. Our one room schoolhouse as we gather for morning time in front of our giant map at our dining table. Big kids are playing with kinetic sand while I read Native American fables, one kid is sitting on the floor with Legos while narrating back the wedding at Cana, and one is in my lap showing me his Lego submarine that he made after being inspired by math facts about shipwrecks. It’s a hodge podge life. . . Our art study is on the wall, our bird feeders are outside the windows, our memory work binder and Mom’s bujo are ready to try to keep us organized, and there’s a collapsing pile of library books on the bench and floor. This is us ;) . . Then they scatter off throughout the house to bicker or do math binders or build a pillow fort upstairs. And, this morning, to consult the map for their hike off to Colorado with a kerchief of plastic food tied onto a hiking stick. It all counts ;)
