Reclaiming Wonders
A bronze statue of a bearded man wearing a friar's robe stands prominently in the foreground, depicted in a dramatic pose with his arms outstretched. The statue appears to be of St. Francis of Assisi, the renowned Catholic friar known for his dedication to poverty and ministering to the poor. The statue is situated in front of an ornate, cathedral-like building with arched windows, columns, and decorative architectural details that appear to be in a Romanesque or Byzantine style. The warm hues of the building's exterior contrast beautifully against the clear blue sky, suggesting a sunny day. The setting evokes a sense of reverence and spirituality, inviting contemplation of St. Francis's life and teachings.

St. Francis of Assisi Statue in Santa Fe

My kids might have been singing some Newsies all day about "Santa Fe, my old friend... they went and made a city out of clay!" We talked about the adobe houses as we drove out this morning and during the quick drive around the square to find some supper. Just a quick stop in Santa Fe without enough time for full exploration... on our way home with a quick hi to St Francis at the church. Maybe I at least managed to convince Meg there aren't a ton of of cowboys here... I think the musical might have told her that too ;). A drive tomorrow to special people and the "tourist" part of vacation is over!
