Reclaiming Wonders
The image depicts a father and his young son closely examining specimens through a microscope at a visitor center exhibit. The father, wearing glasses, is leaning in to assist his son as they peer into the eyepiece together. The exhibit features a mounted display of a fossilized object, possibly an ancient tool or bone fragment, alongside a sign titled 'Get up close!'. Another sign provides instructions on how to 'Name the Nugget', implying an interactive educational activity. The scene conveys a sense of curiosity, exploration, and intergenerational bonding over the wonders of nature and science.

Son and Father Bonding Over Microscope Wonders

Has it ever happened that you drove to the state park with the goal of hiking to see more waterfalls... But the only thing they want to do is play with the microscope? No? Just me? I left to see the mountain view only to come back inside to see they had moved on. After looking at pine needles, lichen, and pulling out their own hair (and mine!)... Boogers. They were looking at their boogers and ear wax. Searching on their legs for a scab to examine. And they didnā€™t want to go on a hike. Or look at the other parts of the visitor exhibit. This is what happens when Daddy helps ;) This is what we are thankful for. Boogers under the microscope.
