Learning Through Life
Simplicity. Flexibility. Just be. They are learning without you. Watch. Maybe you’ll learn from them.

I could go to bed feeling a failure. We didn’t do morning time. Didn’t have much structure. They were home for four hours learning independence while Daddy and I tried to find him a Covid test.

However, they sorted and traded Lego and toys. Figured out conflict. Made lunch for themselves. Took care of dogs. Played marble runs.
.
“What about real learning?” Most had less than an hour today. All day.
.
C did day two of math and handwriting without complaining - score! K complained and did 15 minutes of math and handwriting, and she read the recipe and made molded chocolate on her own. Big kid did homework on her own, a load of laundry, swept my porch… And H read me a small chapter of his new reader.
.
It’s just a day. Not a failure. There’s always tomorrow. Or Sunday. Or next month.
.
I haven’t even opened my planner. Did I mention I might have stayed in bed until 7:45? What?!! And it’s okay.
.
Chill out over-planning mom whose already worrying she’s behind in August. They’re good. You’re good.
.
Eat your homemade supper in front of the TV together and watch a documentary about shark conservation. Aha! Make that 2.5 hours of “real learning” for today. TV learning totally counts.
.
Let me tell you a secret? It’s still going on. They’re reading on their own in bed. Learning never stops. Sit back and watch. 😉
