Exploring Topics Through Intentional Learning
While exploring usually brings to mind time outside, it is so much more. It’s also a mentality of how you learn together as a family. Intentionality.
.
While there’s a time and place for the occasional math workbook, so much can be learned from just talking it through and seizing the opportunities. And it’s usually so much more effective!
.
Today this kid came up and declared she had been diagramming sentences in her head on her own and thinks it’s lots of fun. We’ve hardly touched it outside of Monday class. Surprising to say the least! We grabbed some spare paper from the desk and talked it through. Five minutes. But a good five minutes.
.
We wrote our IEW paper outside in the sunshine and discussed ancient history. Reviewed vocab while she paced and made up sentences. Talked through perimeter and area while putting foil on the cookie sheet. So much exploring of topics with good conversations and intentional time.
.
I’m so thankful for this life we’ve created learning together. No matter your schooling choice, look for ways to discuss or explore or bring it into life. Together.
