Exploring the Columbus Museum

Chihuly. History. And a hair painting. That’s probably what they’ll remember from the Columbus Museum… but there really was so much more. . . We watched a video about the history of the area, Fort Benning’s POW camp, walked through a timeline of history from Native American artifacts to modern day, and saw some art. So much here. And free! . . This isn’t a famous artist museum - Audubon was the only name I knew - but still good pieces and connections made with artists we have studied. . This museum’s website doesn’t tell how much history there is to learn here, so I am telling you. Take a day trip and go explore. We were the only guests in the whole museum, and it’s a big building. . . And that painting with black smears? That was my kids favorite. Whatever. Why not pour paint on your head and rub it on a canvas? 😄 @columbusgeorgia
