Embracing Life's Changes and Finding Beauty
Slow down and enjoy and world and your people while you have them - because life changes and you’ll wish you had.
This last year brought a lot of change and emotions. In some ways, it felt like moving again as we lost some of our friend groups.
.
Our homeschool group changed quite a bit: different place, new director, and even a new campus for the 8th grader. One of the Classical Conversations major drawbacks is that it’s community independent. If you don’t have enough kids for a class, you either nix the program or you track down a class elsewhere. That means, families move to different campuses, and you adjust.

My sixth grade boy ended up being the only one of his besties to stay with our group - and he was the big kid on campus. But he did great and bonded with some of the other boys. Next year, he will meet back up with lots of them for Challenge A at the campus with my Challenge 1 kid who made some amazing friends of her own and now has way-too-long texting messages giggling with her friends.
And then there’s the unnamed besties (ahem @evajbone ) who are going to be missionaries in the Czech Republic and making waves in so many aspects of our lives. In preparation, I put K in Girl Scouts and have tried to be intentional at letting her bond with other girls. I think she’ll survive. And now we have a home base in Europe for when the world chills out.

It’s been a sad year for Mom and kids alike. But, now at the end of these changes, I can look back and see how God blessed me with more Mom friends than before through school and church - and I’m so thankful! ❤️

Also thankful for some amazing spring wildflowers that make me stop to take pictures. #hereisourhomeschool day 3 with @intentionalhomeschooling
