Focusing on What Matters

“The one thing I ask from the Lord, this only do i seek. That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.” Psalm 27:4 I was sitting and feeling overwhelmed, knowing I should be planning school… but not knowing where to start. This year had me juggling two challenge kids, tutoring two different Essentials classes, figuring out next year plan for our days at home, field trip potentials, and now, taking on teaching a Spanish class… It sounds like a lot. A lot of ways to stress… or procrastinate. My specialty! 😉 But I put it all down to do my Bible study book. Mostly out of guilt. And the focus of the day was Ps 27:4. Go back and read it. See? “The one thing…. This only…” David focused on the one most important thing. All the verses pointed to what really should be on my horizon with my kids. Forget library book lists or planning out the details. Or the silliness that’s doesn’t actually need to be done. 👉👉👉To focus on the one thing. So I left my study for the day with a list of Bible verses for us to memorize, a few hymns, and a smile because God led me right where I needed to focus. Back to what’s really important. May we all remember to focus on dwelling in “the house of the Lord” over what the world expects from our family. ❤️ 📸Arkansas hike; June 2022
