Reclaiming Wonders

Embracing Childhood Wonder

Don’t you wish we could preserve the wonder of childhood? The ability to see potential without limiting? See time with friends as superceding all else? . Yesterday we gathered. Other people bailed on the field trip. It was freezing. Parts of the farm and games were broken or wet. The kids were wet and ridiculously clothed. And the moms complained to each other about how we should have bailed too. . However… other than cold, I never heard negativity from the kids. They ran and played in the corn maze and went down the slide and reconstructed the broken bikes… And made special memories with their favorite people. We didn’t need ten families. We had us. I wish we were more like kids at times! . Hmmm. I think Jesus said something like that, right? ❤️ . Here’s your reminder. Don’t squelch your kids wonder or imagination or fantasy or fun times. Hush the complaints. See the potential instead of the limitations. . Dare I say that we should get rid of the disappointment? Usually it’s Mom guilt thinking they’ll be disappointed. They won’t. . Treasure time together no matter what. Wonder about the possibilities and see it through your kid-level viewpoint. It’s a much better way to look at the world. 😘 . Day 6.
