Reclaiming Wonders
The image is divided into two parts. On the left, there is a pile of tattered and decaying wrappings, likely from an ancient mummy, strewn haphazardly on a dark surface. These remnants appear to be fragments of linen or cloth that were once used to carefully wrap and preserve a mummified body. On the right side of the image, a beautifully decorated and well-preserved ancient Egyptian sarcophagus dominates the frame. The sarcophagus depicts an ornately carved figure, likely a depiction of the deceased, adorned with intricate hieroglyphic inscriptions and vibrant painted decorations that have stood the test of time. The juxtaposition of the fragile, disintegrating wrappings and the enduring, exquisitely crafted sarcophagus offers a striking contrast between the ephemeral and the eternal aspects of ancient Egyptian funerary practices.

Ancient Egyptian Exhibit

The two oldest and I had an afternoon of fun at the Natural History Museum. I hadn't been in more than five years and there had been lots of updates. Egypt! We have sarcophagi and mummies etc. Lots of tomb raiding done for us! :). To learn from of course. Super cool. And don't worry. We are now members- when you have this many kids it just makes more sense... Lots more visits ahead!
