This is why we should visit these amazing US history sites! Alas… 😞I didn’t even know there were Indian mounds in the United States until we memorized a @ClassicalConversations sentence our first year of homeschooling. The Native American history of my youth were teepees and buffalo and Dances with the Wolves… On a family road trip, I found our first mound to visit at Emerald Mound on @theNatchezTrace in Mississippi. Then, I saw signs all over the highway pointing to mounds as we drove through the southeastern US. 💡Once you hear of something 👉Then you see it and read about it everywhere. 👏🏻And this is why I tell you. 😉 Check out my blog post for all the details you need to add some ancient history to your US road trip. 👉“Cahokia Mounds: How to See the Best Indian Mounds” Here’s to some adult learning. 💾Save this, and add something educational to your next Illinois trip. . . . . 📸July 2021.
