Atlatl. It’s not just an artifact anymore. With a memorable name 😉 . Don’t just read American history. Go find it! There are so many Native American sites in Florida and all over. Spanish conquistadors? Make them real. . Mound House in Fort Myers Beach is built on top of a Native American shell midden. Aka: The Calusa lived and are from the water using their shells to build up the land to 13 feet at its highest point. The fought of Spanish explorer de Soto and finally killed gun not too far away. . This house was built on top decades ago, and the now-removed swimming pool hole allows a look into the layers of shells and artifacts under ground. Inside the building, you watch a video and see the shells. . Make sure you go with a tour! More awesome adults teaching my kids and tolerating all their questions ❤️ . . .
