Girlhood over everything else ✨ According to a quick google search 85% of all solo travelers are female. Yes you did read that correctly! While traveling isn't limited to only women it definitely is a great way to feel empowered as a woman. I don't think l'd have half the independence or confidence that I do have without traveling out into the world alone. I'll never know if being a boy is boring but I can tell you l'd never trade girlhood and exploring this world in it for anything! Any guesses about what percentage of those solo female travelers have partners? I bet that will blow your mind too 👀
But you never will be 👀🌎 Maybe this isn't the only thing you need to know but it's definitely something I wish I would have accepted and pushed myself to do sooner. I've gone out into the world alone countless times and can say l've never come home without at least a handful of new friends. Shoot, some of my closest friends came from me setting out on my own for an adventure. Life, adventure, love, and the magic of the world will pass you by if you wait for someone else to do anything so you might as well do it now. How many solo trips have you been on?
This trip changed my life forever 🇮🇸 This was the first time I had ever left home to explore another country all on my own. I was coming off of a wild ten days in England where my best friend got married and honestly didn't plan a single thing except for booking the rental car and a ticket for the Blue Lagoon. I planned the entire trip in the parking lot of the Blue Lagoon a few hours after I landed in Iceland. To say that was a bad idea is an understatement. I wanted to go on this trip because I was so sick of waiting for someone else to join me. I was told a million different reasons why I shouldn't go by sooooo many people which only made me want to do it more. I also wanted to prove to myself that I could create around my travels without help because the person closest to me didn't think I could. Every chaotic moment, everything planned and unplanned, every photo taken, every smile and tear were all made and enjoyed by me alone on this trip and it helped me learn that putting myself and my dreams first isn't selfish, it's empowering. And the more you follow what works for you, the more people you find that will cheer you on and even send it on adventures with you. What countries have you traveled to solo?
And get the most insane conditions 🌅 Add this hike to your Lofoten bucket list! 📍 Festvägtind - talk about a glute and calf workout I was sore for daaaaays but all the view points are 113% worth it! It doesn't matter where you are on the trail, the views are STUNNING! The three major viewpoints are each so different because you cross different sides of a mountain peak. Is this hike making your Norway bucket list?
