Photography Tips: Underexposure for Better Highlights
Hey, my name is Nikki ✌🏻 and I’m a photographer! I also dabble into video too!
At least once a day someone sends me a dm and asks me “what do you do?”
I share a lot of my life here so I’m sure it can get a bit confusing but, I am indeed, a photographer. Since day 1 of using Instagram as a way to build my business I’ve always wanted to share photography tips, guides, and courses but the imposter syndrome really took a choke hold. It’s still got a good grip so I’m gonna do my best to baby step into it. Again…
So here is a quick tip. Take your photos a liiiiittle underexposed or ‘dark.’ (See the last slide 👉🏻) It will keep details in your highlights and give your edit a bit more contrast. Aaaand it will preserve more textures throughout your image!
Are you more into photo or video creation? Or are you here to see the outcomes of both?
