Overcoming Fear on a Mountain in Lofoten Islands
Have you ever been “stuck” on a mountain?
Not like unforeseen circumstances like weather trapping you on a mountain but simply your own brain trapping you in one spot? I have.
And this was one of those days. The scramble to this spot was a bit sketchier than I thought it would be and definitely had me freaking out. By the time we made it to the rest of the group I found a spot and didn’t move for 40 minutes. I was stuck and watching my friends step out onto this tongue of a rock trying not to lose my mind.
I eventually calmed down and pushed the limits of my fear a little bit and took the step out onto the rock myself.
I’m not saying push yourself to do dangerous things but I am saying take the time to push your limits, evaluate what’s freaking you out, and see if you can work through it. The mind is more powerful than you think!
