Overcoming Sales Fear and Getting Clients on the Phone

This is how you change it 😎 🤦🏻‍♂️ Hearing “We went with someone else” because you were too nervous to pick up the phone. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Settling on a cheap price because you don’t want to be controversial. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Keeping the conversation on email because you don’t have the confidence to talk face to face. These are all real feelings that I have felt too. And tbh learning how to sell on the phone was the last thing I wanted to do. I didn’t go to business school, I don’t have a sales background. In fact I went to film school because I wanted to shoot cinematic masterpieces. But one day I came face to face with a harsh reality… I could continue playing tag over email with a stranger and I’d be stuck with an expensive hobby the rest of my life. (Which btw, if your goal is to keep photography a hobby, then by all means ignore the rest of this. But if you’re like me and wanted to shoot full time for a living then I realized there was no choice) Like it or not, I’d have to learn how to sell myself. I even tried to weasel out of it by getting an agent but I soon found out that they only helped me on inbound stuff (no outbound) so I still had to go get most of my clients anyway. So reluctantly I decided to dive head first into learning how to sell and promptly went 0-27 on my first 27 sales calls lol. That sucks, but it’s also part of the learning process. I learned a lot of what doesn’t work and eventually found what does. Now my rates and customer success stories are better than ever because I decided to get over my sales fear and pick up the phone. Sales is really just story telling and like any good script, there’s a framework for it. If you are nervous about getting on calls but know you need to learn sales skills to make your career sustainable DM me “TARGET” and I’ll send you my free discovery call framework so you can start implementing yourself. Be Blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙
