Beautiful #architecture exists in LA, if you know where to look. Which brings us to āThe Last of the Great Railway Stationsā - Union Station.
ā¢ā¢
Opened in 1939, Union Station is quintessentially LA in its combination of Mission Revival and Art Deco styles. I donāt actually know that much about architectural styles, but Wikipedia assures me this is the case.

There is something I have always found romantic and grand about these old, majestic railway stations I stumble across in some US and most European cities. I always dreamt of what it might be like to make long overland journeys by train in the golden age of train travel - luxurious, slow-moving iron giants with no technology to distract from the passing landscapes morphing and changing outside your window. Or maybe Iāve read āMurder on the Orient Expressā one too many times. Regardless, I always dreamt of that kind of journey. And stations like these give a glimpse into that old-school elegance of travel.
