The image depicts an entrance sign to Kilimanjaro National Park in Tanzania. The sign, made of wood, is mounted on a sturdy frame and displays the park's name and various camp locations along with their respective elevations. The scenery surrounding the sign is rugged and dry, with a small cabin-like structure visible in the background. A group of people, some wearing hiking gear, can be seen walking near the sign, suggesting they are embarking on or returning from a trek in the national park. The cloudy sky adds a dramatic touch to the overall scene.

Getting to Shira I Camp. •• I loved taking the Lemosho Route because it’s definitely one of the most scenic routes on the mountain. It’s the longest route, and one of the quieter ones. So you get to enjoy beautiful views, acclimatize to the altitude, and not have too many people clogging up the trail. •• Because for me, Kilimanjaro wasn’t about getting up the mountain fast. It was about taking in as much as I could from this amazing landscape. Running up the mountain with an altitude headache and out of breath, worrying about whether I would have to turn back because of altitude sickness, would not have let me enjoy this experience in the same way. . . .
