Chrysler Building NYC's Art Deco Gem
The Chrysler Building is truly one of NYC's Art Deco treasures, commissioned by Walter P Chrysler to show off the glamour of Jazz Age automobiles in 1928 (it opened in1930). While it was the world's tallest building for a short while, the Empire State Building stole the title less than a year later. I love all of the automobile-inspired details on the exterior, especially the racing wheel mosaics crafted from car parts. Something else quirky: at the top of the building you'll find one of the world's highest toilets, though nobody uses it today.
