Reasons to Be Thankful in 2020
*REASONS TO BE THANKFUL IN 2020*
👇
On a typical Thanksgiving, Andy and I would be on the train to his parent's house to borrow a car, then to my parents for an early dinner, then to his brother's for a late dinner. Along the journey, I'd be scrolling social media, reading everyone's posts about how thankful they are.
🥧
This year, though, looks quite different. But despite the chaos of 2020 and the fact that this year's holiday will be spent on Zoom, I'm still feeling thankful.
🙏
Looking back at 2020, through the layers of uncertainty and anxiety, I can pull out many highlights.
✨
I married my best friend in our favorite NYC park on July 18. I adopted a new cat (Baxter!). I strengthened friendships through a solid "quarantine pod." I've mastered the art of the weekend picnic. I got my yoga teacher certification. I found time to adopt a fun two-hour morning routine. I moved into a beautiful new apartment (thanks quarantine, for making me realize how much I needed windows). I've adopted healthier habits, from switching to a more natural beauty routine to starting to run again.
💪
This year certainly isn't what any of us planned. And let's be real, I could easily write a post listing all of the reasons this year totally sucked. But while I hate toxic positivity, I also believe that our energy moves toward where we focus our attention. And so, I choose gratitude.
❤️
That being said, if you need a little pick-me-up, I'm sharing my morning bourbon chocolate coffee recipe in my Instagram Stories. It's booze-free, but of course, you can add a nip if you feel so inclined! 😉 #BeyondTheGuidebook
