The Value of Raising Your Photography Prices
👇Why do photographers get SCARED of raising their prices? I have a theory.👇
-
We were taught that we were ARTISTS, sharing pieces of our souls, instead of being taught that we were BUSINESS OWNERS, providing a service that we love, while making a living.
-
There’s nothing wrong with being an artist, having a passion for photography and offering that to other people while wholeheartedly, giving your entire self to it.
But there is something wrong. When you realize you’re not paying your bills, you’re not growing in your craft and your business is at a standstill, or worse going backwards.
-
I’d venture to guess that most photographers don’t even raise their pricing enough to keep up with inflation.
-
If you want to continue to improve the value that you give your clients, there is a cost behind creating a better client experience, and a better life for yourself and your family. We can only do that, but either taking more jobs, and potentially burning out, or raising our prices appropriately.
-
I know we all get scared that no one will ever book us again, but that’s just not true. Raise your prices, even if by $100. No one is going to not book a photographer they love over $100 and if they do then, trust me, you don’t want to work with that person.
-
I was recently talking to someone about how we need to do the hard things first in order to really create momentum and movement in our lives.
Raising your prices is the hard thing for a lot of photographers. I encourage you to go do it. Do it now. Rip off the Band-Aid and raise your prices by $100. then think of the value that you can give your clients now that you have that extra hundred dollars per client, or the value that you can give your family.

Keep moving forward.
