From dreamy Cadillacs to couples who are absolute goals, these wedding moments take timeless elegance to a whole new level.
like, i shoot fast, literally own speedposing.com… but thats just not gonna work and if it does, it’ll make emotional moments turn into a factory wedding feel.
What are yours? Wedding photography has been my bread and butter for so long, but I’ve evolved over the years. I used to do weddings where I only give digital files, now I insist on being a part of the creative process through the art of printing the story. I used to watermark my photos (and freak out about being tagged and credited), but now I don’t (though I still love a tag ❤️). I’ve always booked hours consecutively - and that has cost me a few jobs for sure, but I’m ok with that because I wasn’t the right fit for them and every couple deserves to have the right photographer. What are your nonnegotiables or things that have changed throughout your time as a wedding photographer? My life’s mission is to print memories. Shoot and burn (or shoot and send a downloadable gallery) isn’t where our relationship and story-telling responsibility ends as wedding photographers and it doesn’t have to be where our creativity stops. I find SO MUCH fulfillment spending time with my couples after their wedding, reliving the day and helping them tell their love story in a way that resonates with them and how they want to remember and pass it on. Was so happy walking through my thought process about this with @masonzenji on @canonusa’s podcast Unscripted. See the rest of the podcast on Canon’s YouTube channel!
How often do you feel unmotivated? Here’s my secret to fighting it 👇Tell me yours in the comments! I don’t have one secret. When I feel unmotivated and there isn’t one magical thing or morning routine that’ll change my mind. So instead, I have a list of things to run through that my (or may not) snap me out of it: - take an hour off to reset - smack talk myself into moving even if I’m moving slowly - energy drink - do a “mindless” task - do smaller tasks first - create a fun working environment (snacks/netflix) - Talk to someone - get off social media - read a chapter in a book - play with my kids - take a walk - get a massage Note that exercise is NOT on that list. Exercise has never been an upper for me, it always drains me. 🫠🫠🫠 What’s on your list of motivational tricks?
Late wedding night flat lays are SUPER popular right now and honestly I’m all for it. - While it might just be another thing on the to do list for a wedding day. it’s during a time where there’s only so many dancing photos you can take and one photographer can still be covering the dance floor while I go and do something fun and creative and gather all of the little props. 😁 Did you spot the bride and groom Lego characters? i’ve used direct flash photography with my @profoto A10 as well as continuous flight with this cute little @hobolite that I just adore and I enjoy both outcomes!
