When Schoolwork Becomes Overwhelming

Just. Stop. . No one says you have to keep going, pushing him even when his brain is turned off. Remember that’s why he’s at home with you instead of school. . No one says the paper had to be worked on right now at 12:15 because Mom decided it’s a good time. It can wait an hour while he plays basketball with his brother. . No one says you even have to write this paper. You are the teacher. What if you need to change the topic? Life got crazy? It’s too hard? You didn’t explain it well enough? . No one says he has to hold the pencil and do it. Maybe you need to scribe it? Maybe he’d get more interested if he could type it? . Or maybe you just need to pour into him in another way and quit worrying about the paper. And reevaluate later. . I see you. I feel you. Remember, we are different and rebels and trouble makers or we wouldn’t be at home with our kids anyway, right ? 😉 . We have the ability give our kids different. Don’t forget that. ❤️
