Family Visit to Holocaust Museum
You took your kids to the Florida Holocaust Museum? Yup. Seeing is understanding.
.
Cattle car for human transport.
Scale model of huge concentration camp.
Model of Anne Frank’s hiding place.
Survivor stories.
So much learning for each stage.
13 year old read every word. Internalized all the history.
.
11 year old went off. Read. Came back to ask questions. “What is genocide?” He watched the counter that added another person killed by genocide every 12 seconds. Lots of questions.
.
9 year old. Listened to descriptions on the headphone tour. Narrated to me what she learned. Looked at artifacts while I explained.
.
7 year old entertained himself on the phone quietly while we read and discussed. Patiently waited with Minecraft.

👉Was it a happy kid place? No. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go and learn. Get thee to the museum!
