Visiting the Impressive Ark Encounter
The Ark Encounter - we liked it better than the Creation Museum. It helps when it’s huge, and all the visitors can spread out! Much more to examine and touch - not just placards to read. Better for the kids.

The Ark is massive and impressive and such a great life sized visual. While the inside systems for animal and human care are conjecture, the dimensions are Biblical with extra info on shape and design from ship building methods at the time. They even explain animal feeding, waste removal, air circulation, and lighting which the little engineer enjoyed learning about. Put all together, it definitely makes Noah rescuing and constructing seem completely doable - completely different from the Little Tykes Ark toy our kids all had crammed full with giraffes 😀
.
In the animal cages, there are many examples of animals which would have been around back then —-including dinosaurs. Outside we enjoyed the petting zoo and the other animals. Note: when you go in the winter, the kangaroos don’t want to come out!
.
Some of the info is repeat from the Creation Museum, so we were still glad we had gone there first. Here, however, there is more about geological flood effects and ice age and world flood myths.
.
My criticism: it states at the front how “arktistic” license has been taken where info was missing and storylines have been added to Noah to show how it “might have been”. The Biblical facts are mingled with the story. I can see how those without strong Biblical base could leave thinking a lot is Biblical when it’s just conjecture. You need to leave and double check your facts and keep studying. That’s definitely what we’re still doing.
.
All in all, a great day and highly recommended.
