Visiting Fort Larned: Learning History on the Santa Fe Trail

Day two of this trip was going to be the long one... still is as we are going across Nebraska... And then I saw a homeschool post about Fort Larned in Kansas that protected the Santa Fe trail 1860s70s. I didn't even know either of these existed before this excursion. Lots of real life learning for parents and kids and burning off some pent up energy. This was our first of many to come Junior ranger stops, and the kids were excited to get their badges after completing their packets.
