Visit Gettysburg on November 19 - Dedication Day Parade

Don’t read history. Learn it. Go to Gettysburg. Honor them. And go on November 19th. Abraham Lincoln is one of my family’s favorites. 🎩Read lovely picture books 🎩Walked @lincolnbirthplacenps 🎩Explored his childhood farm @lincolnboyhoodnps 🎩Honored him at @fordstheater 🎩Sang the Gettysburg Address to Lincoln’s statue thanks to @RossKingMusic… 🤓 [We need to get to Springfield to see the rest. @visitspringfield] But visiting Gettysburg? Remembering Nov 19th, 1863 Being there was so special. And when every Civil War reenactor in the northeast US converges to march through the streets of Gettysburg, it’s a sight to see. It felt like watching the troops come home from war as they marched past for an hour.❤️ I like to think the kids will remember driving around the battlefield, exploring the fabulous museum, or the Cyclorama. But I know the Dedication Day Parade of 2022 will be forever in their memory. This mom had no idea what magical date she picked to visit. It was a happy “accident”. ✅You, however, have been told. 👉👉Save this and make plans for November 19th. (And pack a warm coat. 😉) Mom tip: Get the family membership. Saves so much money if you’re seeing the museum! @gettysburgnps #365homeschool #familytrips #roadtripfamily #travellingkids #goadventuretogether #classicalconversations #explorewithme #homeschooladventures #travelmadfam #traveltribe #welltraveledkids #exploringfamilies #familieswhotravel #kidswhotravel #familyfuntimes #momtraveler #packandgo #familytraveltribe #travelmoms #homeschoolingfamily #homeschoolrocks #loveyourtimetogether #homeschoolfun #homeschoolersofinstagram #unschoolers #gettysburgbattlefield #gettysburgpa @destinationgettysburg
