And close to lots of your family road trips destinations. ⭐️Let’s learn some real US history about real American heroes. ⭐️ George Washington Carver is one of those people who are way too often overlooked. 🥜Born a slave in 1864. 🥜Inventor, Scientist, Educator. 🥜Christian and Nature-Lover. When you learn about Dr. Carver, you make connections to Booker T. Washington, the Tuskegee Institute, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Teddy Roosevelt, and Henry Ford… He’s been in so many of our family studies, yet I’d never heard of him until homeschooling. Not to mention, there are so many amazing kid picture books about Dr. Carver to read before your visit! The Carver National Monument was the first national monument dedicated to an African American and the first national monument dedicated to a non-president. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 🔹Learn about his research and impact nationally. 🔹Learn about his slave birth. 🔹See a reproduction of his Tuskegee classroom. 🔹Wander the land of his childhood. 🔹And see a beautiful part of Missouri. 👉Don’t overlook the important places for the fancy destinations. Save this in your IG vacation folder… and if you don’t have one, make one. And fill it with all my places. 😉 . . . . . Bobbie here👋.
