Victorian Museum's Whale Skeleton Exhibit
The #nationalmuseumofscotland is amazing. I don’t think we saw a fourth of it before closing time. Five stories in an incredible Victorian feeling building. It’s not the typical orderly museum though. I told Greg I felt like Dali put together a museum, and I’m more of a Michelangelo kind of girl. Nerd, I know. It was a little overwhelming at times! But so much there to see.
The kids loved the hands on room with hot air balloon, pulleys, robots, flight design, and magnetic trains. The animals were amazing though and quickly distracted their whining about wanting to go back to the (overly crowded) other section.
Look at that sperm whale head! Huge! Did you know an elephant weighs as much as a blue whale’s tongue? Huge!
And my kids wouldn’t join me in singing about Assyria to look at this panel of King Ashuripanal (sp?)... it too was huge. Huge success!
We could go back every day and see more... but no time for that. It’s a good one. Six out of five stars.
