Sagrada Familia: Barcelona's Must-See Architectural Marvel
Contrary to popular belief… This famous place on our family trip wasn’t that great… ⛪️🇪🇸✈️
Until we went inside.
And soaked it in.
That colored light…
After the time this travel mom spent travel planning for the Sagrada Familia tickets in Barcelona.
And the hype…
❌We arrived to the summer crowds in Spain.
❌And ALL the summer tourists.
❌At an ugly, mixed-up church under construction.
❌And, a lot of this famous Barcelona church is hidden behind walls, so you can’t see it from the street.
(A big family trip yuck when I like to find free places!)
Yes, I knew what to expect.
And I’d read about Antoni Gaudi and had even seen his other buildings on this Spain trip.
But man… it was ugly.
Then.
You get closer to soak in the details. See the parts and steeples and carvings.
The small details.
The random symbols or fruit or plants or people.
❤️Then you see the genius.
So ignore the crowds.
👉And be patient.
Because once you get inside
And see the light streaming through the stained glass.
And let your eyes follow the amazing arches and carvings…
You’ll get why this is a must-see Spain attraction.
So yes, book a ticket for the Sagrada Familia. And don’t be turned off by first impressions.
Because it deserves a good dawdle to take it all in
👉Save this to your Europe travel list.
👉Or at least go watch a video to see it!
