Rescued Sea Turtle at Nature Center
Learn from me. Don’t say beach until after you’ve “made” the kids see sea turtles. My children really do have hard lives. 😂

Two days into our Florida trip, we’ve seen a few turtle nests and are hoping to see some mama turtles since it’s nesting season. Though a certain child argued through the brief trip (bc it wasn’t the ocean), the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center was a great stop to see rescued sea turtles and local fish in their outdoor aquariums.

This turtle up close has damaged front flippers, so he will never be released. He did his job today though by staring us down from his outside aquarium. And yea for more awesome adults who take the time to explain to myself and the kids, and for staff who crawl in with the turtles to heal them. This one was getting maggot therapy and honey for his wounds. Natural medicine at its finest!

This busy free place is right across the street from the Red Reef Park in Boca Raton. Park at the Red Reef lot and walk through the mangrove hammock to see some honu —aka turtles. ❤️
