Homeschooling Reflections: Advice for New Homeschool Moms
This pic đ˘ It might just be the only pic of me doing âschoolâ all these years. â- Husbands take pics!
.
Eight years. That seems crazy. Itâs a good thing I have that youngest kid to help me track time. But I do so wish I could go back and talk to me as a first year at-home mom.

.
I would tell her:
1ď¸âŁQuit buying books and curriculum and the next, greatest nature study guide â They take up so much space and money, and youâll never use them.
2ď¸âŁDonât waste time thinking youâre not as disciplined or qualified or organized â Just be your best
3ď¸âŁSave the paper and donât print out all those worksheets. â Kids donât need busy work, and youâll forget where you put it.
4ď¸âŁInvest time in seeing the big picture. Hang out with older moms with bigger kids. â Learn from them and quit trying to figure it out on your own.
5ď¸âŁTurn off the radio and ask the kids about life or their books or church or the movie. â Quit filling the quiet with the unimportant.
6ď¸âŁTake time for yourself and quit feeling bad about it. â You need it.
7ď¸âŁStop comparing your house cleanliness or decor to that of your mom or neighbor or Pinterest. â Love what you have and invite friends over to play.
8ď¸âŁClean out the junk. Minimize the time and worry and crap (figurative and literal) â Leave room for the important.
9ď¸âŁMake friends - I feel like I preach this all the time!
and lastlyâŚ
đRest. You can do this. God wouldnât have led you here if he wasnât going to help you in the space. â âTrust in the Lord with all your heart, and Lean not on your own understanding.â â¤ď¸
