Remembering the Unity of 9/11
I was in college. I watched the video. I remember the day. But I don’t think I fully understood.
.
I do remember the flags. Every house on the block had one flying. Every block in unity. When people loved their country and acted in love to each other.
.
It’s a shame it takes a common enemy to bring people together.
.
.
Even as Christians, as people, we too often don’t remember that we have a common Enemy. It isn’t your fellow church member. Or the parent of your kid’s classmate. Or the stranger at the grocery store. Or whoever acts differently than you.
.
Let’s teach our kids the history and geography and significance of 9/11. May they rise above the ignorant college junior I was when 9/11 happened. But most importantly, let’s remember the unity and who our real Enemy is.
