Remembering 9/11 with Picture Books
Think about it. How different is your life today because of September 11th? 🇺🇸
When I was growing up
👉We didn’t go through intense airport security or take off shoes or have air rangers.
👉We didn’t take the time to learn about Muslim beliefs and countries.
👉We didn’t read picture books about kids with hijabs or going to worship at mosques.
We spend so much time talking about ancient history, but what about the American history that has impacted our everyday lives? For the better and the worse. Modern history is so important.
“America started its day… Airports roared with jetliners… Among their ordinary passengers were nineteen deadly men… At 8:00 AM on September 11, 2001, they acted.”
Have you taken the time to discuss September 11th? Grab some picture books and let them help you start the conversation with your family. There’s still time. Here are some good ones to get started.
Let’s educate the kids to be better than us and more loving of people from all backgrounds.❤️
👉How will you take the day to remember?
