Reclaiming Wonders
A young boy with a beaming smile is standing on the deck of a boat or ship, gripping the railing with both hands. His gaze is fixed ahead, his eyes squinting slightly against the bright sunlight reflecting off the expanse of vivid turquoise-blue water stretching out before him. In the distance, the hazy outline of a mountainous island is visible under a partly cloudy sky. The boy is wearing a navy blue long-sleeved shirt with a stylized fish emblem printed on the front, along with a bright yellow baseball cap adorned with a dolphin or whale logo. His expression radiates pure joy and excitement, suggesting he is reveling in the adventure of being out on the water amidst breathtaking natural scenery.

Don't Wait to Travel With Kids

“Wait to travel until they’re older.” “Don’t go to —— because they’re too young to fully appreciate it.” “It’ll be easier when they can —— on their own.” 👉Don’t listen. I’m glad we didn’t wait to adventure or road trip or travel. Or listen to all that ”helpful advice”. Because once they are older, it’s harder to get out and go. Now, they have school assignments or play practice or youth group events that they don’t want to miss. They eat more. They take up more space. And frankly, it’s hard to squeeze that big kid in a play pen at the hotel and pretend he doesn’t count toward your total guests. 😂 🌟Go no matter what. There will always be a reason to not go adventuring. Before you know it, he’ll be a teenager, and there just won’t be as much time together left. Happy 13th birthday to my adventure loving guy who would rather be skiing or hiking or gardening or adventuring today - anything other than “doing school”. 🎉 Save this for next time you need that reminder to seize the day!🙋‍♀️ 📸Hawaii whale watching trip; Feb 2020
