Kid's Mispronunciation Leads to Laughter
That time when you’re quizzing you’re high vocabulary kid and you get to.... fatigue. .
.
She was stumped. But I figured she knew it. I used it in sentences. I spelled it. .
.
She said, “Oh, you mean fat-ih-gyu.”
.
.
As in, rhymes with The House of Montague. .
.
I believe it was the ever wise @readaloudrevival who said that it was a sign that your kid was teaching themselves lots of words on their own and reading to themselves... when they don’t know how to pronounce the words. And it’s true right here. .
.
And it made us laugh. And I might forever mispronounce it from here on out. In addition to using as many #classicalconversations vocabulary words in conversation with the kids as possible because fetid and spew are equally entertaining in this house of nerds.
