Homeschooling with Service
Rise up! What if all the homeschoolers made an effort to serve as part of the curriculum? Isn’t that more important than “finishing the math book”? Imagine the impact we could have.
I put my kid to work making a dessert for a funeral meal at church today. Carrot cake it is - she gets to bake and I don’t get to eat the whole thing. It honestly never occurred to me that this was a service we could provide. (Granted, the sad who didn’t get it either wasn’t too happy 😉)
So this is the year. Nursing homes. Shut ins at church. Food bank. Helping clean the church.
I’m mobilizing my little army so they grow up with a heart of service. Give me more ideas. How and where do you serve with your kids? What other opportunities have I overlooked?
