Texas Food Adventures: A Mouthwatering Journey
End of my summer travels: aka it’s time for my ode to Texas food. 😁
1️⃣His must eat place in Houston. A giant burrito from @uberrito (even though the family still calls in Mission 😂)
2️⃣ See that color? A shrimp taco and an avocado taco. Fresh and delightful. And color! @uberrito
3️⃣Fish taco from @gringostexmex . See once again the color and freshness? Please come to Georgia @gringostexmex
4️⃣Meet green sauce. Gringo’s chips and salsa are the best. But green sauce - think avocado, creamy, cilantro stuff you want to drink.
5️⃣Hard Eight BBQ - See? There’s even color and awesomeness on the bbq meat. Bark. Loveliness. @hardeightbbq I found you in DFW and don’t have to detour to Stephenville anymore. 👋
6️⃣Yes, in Texas even the restaurant buildings themselves are bigger. Soaring roofs. Huge rooms. We like our ambience and space. 😂
7️⃣If it’s a Texan tradition in Oklahoma, it still counts. You can’t go to the Wichita Mountains and not have a burger at Meers. Or one big enough for your whole family!
8️⃣And add Samurai to your North Texas list. All of us from Wichita Falls know that the only hibachi to get is from here!
You “east of the Mississippi” people are confused with your gray food. Add a garnish to your plate. Leave the Velveeta out of your Mexican food. Dare I suggest a fresh veg? Sigh.
Negative Nelly signing out. Until Christmas, Texas. Georgia, maybe there’s a reason y’all eat so much of “God’s chicken”. Did you know Texas doesn’t call it that either? 😂
Add these to your list for your travels. You can’t go to Houston without Gringo’s, or Wichita Falls without Samurai, or Meers, OK without a burger, or DFW without Hard Eight.
You’re welcome. 😁
