Homeschool Planning: Plan From Behind
See the crazy inside my messed up momma brain. I’ve seen everyone planning their school and stressing for the year ahead. Calm!
.
If you haven’t met Julie Bogart, look her up. @juliebravewriter Her perspective totally changed how I used to spend hours planning weekly activities —- that we never did. Then you feel like a failure when you didn’t do them. Right?!
.
So what do I do instead? Plan from behind. I work to appreciate and write down the learning life and the deep dives we take as a family and individually. Even when mostly unscripted. If all of life is an opportunity, why not count baking or games or discussions or prayers. These things are way too easily forgotten in traditional homeschool planning mode.
.
Doing it this way keeps everything together. No more searching for all the lists all over the place. I love looking back through the lists. I can “prove” our life to any of the naysayers better!
.
.
I hope this helps a bit! I’d love to see how your crazy planning mind works. There’s always room for tweaking my method.

Day 8 for homeschool tip month. This is definitely my essentials!
