Historic Yorktown Redoubt
Battle of Yorktown.. I was going to scrap it. I knew the kids wouldn’t put up with driving around the battlefield. That’s never worked before...
.
.
I’m stubborn. What? ;). So when we drove by the redoubts, I got out and explored with Coop. And so glad we did because it was super cool. All those “hills” are built up earthworks from the British before the Americans stormed in and took it.
.
.
The big pikes? Those are at the level ground level and Coop is standing in the trench in front of the big wall surrounding the depression inside. That’s a redoubt. From 250 years ago. Cool!
.
.
So Hamilton nerds, this is the redoubt next to the one Hamilton charged in the middle of the night with bayonets. No noise of gunshots or they would know they were coming. Which led to the surrender of Cornwallis and the British. See? Hamilton is teaching us history!

Battle of a Yorktown🎤🎼
“We move undercover and we move as one
Through the night, we have one shot to live
Another day
We cannot let a stray gunshot give us away
We will fight up close, seize the moment and stay in it
It's either that or meet the business end of a bayonet...”
