Reclaiming Wonders
A group of people, adults and children, are seated inside a dimly lit vehicle, likely a minivan or SUV. The scene appears to be at night or in a dark setting. Several of the individuals, including children, are engaged in watching a movie or video on a screen mounted towards the front of the vehicle's interior. One child is wearing headphones, perhaps to better hear the audio. The atmosphere suggests a family road trip or long journey, where the entertainment system is being utilized to keep the young passengers occupied and content during the drive.

Family Road Trip Entertainment

We spend a lot of time driving. Fact. On long trips, they watch movies. Fact. Especially when it’s dark outside. They’re creating their own little sibling cultures to share stories and inside jokes and lots of back seat giggles. And it’s ok. All those who talk about the joy of car time for listening to stories and singing and talking blah blah. Car rides with Mom during the week are usually all that plus a never ending cycle of school memory work and Bible verse songs... Daddy doesn’t want to listen to their audiobooks and podcasts ;) And sometimes, I just want them to hush. Here’s to knowing how to make travel painless and not being ashamed to tell your method. Especially once you have a big kid who can push all the buttons without my front seat contortions! If you don’t have a tv, I’m impressed. For those of us who do, it’s ok.
